Development Director sought by Platform International Animation Festival. Following the success of the first Platform International Animation Festival in Portland in June 2007, the festival is revising both its organization and funding base. The last festival was sponsored entirely by Cartoon Network, but the 2009 event will seek a wider range of financing including grants and donations as well as private sponsorship. The festival has recently been incorporated as an Oregon 501©3 non-profit. Executive Director: Architectural Heritage Center sought by Bosco-Milligan Foundation, a Portland-based non-profit historic preservation organization. The Center is owned and operated by the Bosco-Milligan Foundation. (posted 5/6/08) Three Positions at Camp Caldera for Summer. Caldera is currently seeking talented folk to work in their summer camp programming for at-risk youth. Camp Caldera located at Blue Lake near Sisters, Oregon. Youth Advocate: supervises a group of 6-8 campers each program session, Advocates build a fun and cohesive team of campers as well as a greater camp community. Advocates act as mentors, advisors, guides and friends to campers for the duration of the summer program. Applicants must have of 1 year of experience working with middle and high school young people. Strong communication skills and experience facilitating groups of youth. Challenge Course Facilitator: incorporates program goals into course facilitation on both high and low elements and encourages campers to set goals, take positive risks and challenge personal boundaries while on course. Applicants must be certified. Candidates must also have a minimum of one year experience facilitating groups of challenging young people. CPR and First Aid certification required. Environmental Educator: incorporates program goals into daily sessions, works to inspire curiosity about nature and build connections to the environment. This person serves as the principle liaison for all users and renters of the venue during these months. This may include coordinating schedules between the Profile office and renters of the venue, overseeing rehearsals/performances by various renters, supervising the venue while in use to ensure that all rules and policies of the space are enforced, serving as part of renters' house or stage crew, performing or coordinating regular maintenance of Profile venue, and being available, should a problem arise outside of normal business hours. Compensation is $10/hr. House Manager for the 2008-09 Neil Simon season, which includes four full productions (21 performances each) and three staged readings (5 performances each) between September 2008 and June 2009. The House Manager is responsible for finding, coordinating, and training Ushers, coordinating concessions, ensuring appropriate seating for priority ticket holders and those with special seating needs, coordinating curtain time and intermission with box office and stage manager, and being available during the performances to handle emergencies or otherwise serve the needs of the theater's patrons. Technical Director/Lead Artist Wanted. Bent Image Lab, Portland has an immediate need for surface/lighting render TD artist primarily in 3Ds max and V ray. Need someone very adept at special effects realism, and has some exposure to character animation work. Bent’s client’s include: Office Max, Coke, Geico, Alltell, Tinactin, Microsoft, PBS, Hewlett Packard, Radiohead, and They Might Be Giants. Essential Skills: 3d Studio Max 9, V ray (or similar render package.) Some ability in the following is a plus: Photoshop CS, After Effects, Fume FX, Real Flow, Z-brush, ability to work with CG Hair – all a plus. If you are not familiar with V ray, we accept highly skilled hard workers who light and surface amazing images in other packages, but can adapt and learn quickly to new ones. Contract work for 6 to 12 weeks duration, perhaps leading to longer employment. Must have exceptional CG/VFX skills, passion, drive and a natural eye for finishing great images with flair. Museum Educator for School and Educator Programs: Seattle Art Museum, one of the Pacific Northwest's leading visual arts institutions since 1933. They will have 24 mobile units, 400+ specialty cameras and an international broadcast center encompassing over 20,000 square meters that will operate 24/7 and require 4,000 employees.
