Linda Wysong, artist and teacher
RACC Public Art Design Team Roster; 2005 Project Grant; RACC's "intersection" Artist-in-Residence; RACC Public Art Commissions 2002; Visual Chronicle of Portland

Linda Wysong is a Portland-based interdisciplinary visual artist whose work has been shown nationally and internationally. She is also an Assistant Professor in Liberal Arts (Art History) at Pacific Northwest College of Art. In addition to her art training, she is a journeyman carpenter who worked in the field for 12 years - all skills she brings to her current project.

Linda is part of the RACC Design Team Roster, which is used for both public and private improvement projects when early collaborative involvement is possible. Currently she is working on a project, Portals (sketch above, one of the completed sculptures at left), that will use recycled concrete. These concrete blocks were cut out of the Holman Building, now being converted by the City of Portland into the RiverEast Building, to create windows. Wysong is taking these pieces and creating sculptures for the Holman Street Project site to be finished end of April 2007. Prints of her sculptures will be on display at the Pacific Northwest College of Art Faculty Exhibition opening April 5, 2007.

From September 29 - October 27, 2007 Linda will participate in the exhibition Contruct/Reconstruct organized by Portland artist/curator Rhoda London at the Cathedral Park Place in St. John.
