The Regional Arts & Culture Council
Announces 2007-08 Board Roster

The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) has elected Mary Edmeades (at right) for a second term as the Chair of the Board for 2007-08. Mary Edmeades is the VP/Manager for the Albina Community Bank. Past involvement includes the Zimmerman Community Center, Small Business Advisory Council, and the Alzheimer’s Association as a Board Member, among other affiliations.

Joining Edmeades on the RACC Executive Committee are Vice-Chair, Carole Morse; Treasurer, Claudia Burnett; Secretary, Jim Neill; additional board members Ernie Bloch, Josie Mendoza, Carol Smith; and RACC Executive Director Eloise Damrosch.

Four new members have been elected to the RACC Board this year:
Pamela Knowles currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Portland Business Alliance. Prior to joining the Alliance in 2004, Ms. Knowles was a partner with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, served as executive director of the Oregon Judicial Fitness Commission, and held leadership roles with various arts and community organizations.

Andrew Mauss is the Owner and Sales Manager of Aura Cabinetry in Forest Grove, Oregon, where he is responsible for financial forecasting, service and maintaining customer relationships, marketing campaigns, and recruiting all key personnel.

Marshall Runkel is the Resource Development Manager for the City of Portland's Bureau of Housing and Community Development. He currently serves on the boards of Disjecta, Portland Community Media, and Oregon Democracy Reform. Formerly he worked in City Commissioner Erik Sten’s office and served as staff liaison to RACC.

Deborah Saweuyer-Parks is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Homestead Capital, a nonprofit corporation founded in 1993 which invests in affordable rental housing in 11 western states. Ms. Saweuyer-Parks has served on the boards of the Oregon Public Broadcasting, Oregon Symphony, Oregon College of Art and Craft, and the American Leadership Forum of Oregon.

Continuing RACC Board members include: Gwyneth Gamble Booth, Peter W. Cookson, Mark Edlen, Leslie Garcia, Stacey Graham, Larry Harvey, Mary Maletis, Tad Savinar, Jayne Stamm, Craig Thompson and Julie Vigeland.

Through vision, leadership and service the Regional Arts & Culture Council works to integrate arts and culture in all aspects of community life.
