The Regional Arts & Culture Council
Announces 2006-07 Board Roster

The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) has elected Mary Edmeades (pictured) as the Chair of the Board for 2006-07. Mary Edmeades is the VP/Manager for the Albina Community Bank. Past involvement includes the Zimmerman Community Center, Small Business Advisory Council, and the Alzheimer’s Association as a Board Member, among other associations.

Joining Edmeades on the RACC Executive Committee are Vice-Chair, Ernie Bloch; Treasurer, Claudia Burnett; Secretary, Jim Neill; additional board members Jayne Stamm, Chris Rasmussen and Carol Smith; and RACC Executive Director Eloise Damrosch.

Five new members have been elected to the RACC Board this year:
Gwyneth Gamble Booth, an active member of the philanthropic and nonprofit communities in Portland for many years, from her work at the Dougy Center to the board of the Portland Art Museum.
Peter W. Cookson, Jr., Dean of the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education, formerly president of the Doris Dillon Center and Teachers College Innovations at Columbia University’s Teachers College.
Mark Edlen of Gerding/Edlen Development Company LLC, involved with The Gerding Theater for Portland Center Stage and partnering with the Housing Authority of Portland and RACC on public art at The Civic.
Stacey Graham Vice-President and Director of Marketing for Vancouver’s First Independent Bank, formerly with United Way of the Columbia-Willamette.
Tad Savinar, Portland Artist, with extensive experience on major public art projects, both local and national.

Continuing RACC Board members include: Leslie Garcia, Pam Gibson, Larry Harvey, Larry Lewis, Mary Maletis, Josie Mendoza, Carole Morse, Craig Thompson, and Julie Vigeland.

Through vision, leadership and service the Regional Arts & Culture Council works to integrate arts and culture in all aspects of community life.
