Candidates Respond to Arts & Culture Questionnaire
Recently, the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) and Northwest Business for Culture & the Arts (NW/BCA) asked candidates for local elected office, including Portland City Council, Metro Council, and Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington County Commissions, about their positions on important arts and culture issues. 42 candidates each received the same four questions and, as of April 14th, 21 candidates have responded. These responses are posted on the RACC web site at:
www.racc.org/advocacy/local
Through this important community service, RACC and NW/BCA endeavor to help clarify the candidates’ positions on arts-related issues, and to illuminate for the voting public the extent to which candidates would financially support arts and culture in the tri-county area if elected.
Through vision, leadership, and service, the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) works to integrate arts and culture in all aspects of community life. For more information about RACC, visit the web site at www.racc.org, or call 503.823.5111
The mission of Northwest Business for Culture & the Arts (NW/BCA) is to dramatically increase public and private support for the arts, heritage and humanities throughout Oregon. For more information about NW/BCA visit www.nwbca.org or call 503.228.2977.
