Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Awarded as Top Supporter
of the Regional Arts & Culture Fund
Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership (ZGF) was celebrated as the Top Contributor to the Regional Arts & Culture Fund at Northwest Business for Culture and the Arts (NWBCA) Breakfast of Champions on November 4th, 2005.
This is a new award that recognizes companies and their employees who, together, make an extraordinary contribution to the arts and culture through workplace giving. ZGF provides employees the opportunity to donate to the Regional Arts & Culture Fund through automatic payroll deduction, and then matches those donations dollar for dollar.
In fall 2004, ZGF was among 14 leadership companies, to be the first to provide their employees with an opportunity to support the arts at work through payroll deduction, by adding the Regional Arts & Culture Fund to the company’s annual charitable giving campaign. The generosity of employees, together with ZGF’s 100% match of employee gifts, raised a total of $5,144.
ZGF Partner Bob Packard accepted the award for the firm, saying, “This is the first year we’ve participated in RACC’s workplace giving campaign, and I hope it’s just the tip of the iceberg. It further reinforces our ongoing efforts to encourage our younger staff – the next generation – to connect with the arts and cultural organizations in our community.”
Providing employees with choice in giving, that includes the arts, shows ZGF’s commitment to their employees, as well as their commitment to supporting the arts.
Over the past 30-plus years, ZGF partners and staff have served on the Boards of, and volunteered for, many of Portland’s arts organizations, including Literary Arts, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland Art Museum, Oregon College of Art & Craft, Northwest Business for Culture & the Arts, Portland Center for the Performing Arts, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Artist Repertory Theatre, Oregon Symphony, Oregon History Center, Oregon Arts Commission and the Regional Arts & Culture Council.
ZGF’s support for the arts also includes financial contributions and sponsorship of special events and exhibits each year at the Portland Art Museum, Oregon History Center, Literary Arts, Portland Center for Performing Arts and PICA, to name just a few. ZGF has been a consistent supporter of the Art in Schools program, and has provided pro bono design services to non-profit clients such as Ethos, Inc. a Multicultural Music Center, dedicated to providing music-based education for youth in Oregon’s underserved communities.
The Regional Arts & Culture Fund was established by the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), to increase awareness and individual investment in arts and culture. With a gift to the Regional Arts & Culture Fund employees can support over 70 arts and culture organizations in the tri-county area with a single gift, and 100% of their contribution goes directly to support those organizations and the programs they provide.

Through vision, leadership and service the Regional Arts
& Culture Council works to integrate arts and culture in all aspects of
community life.
