Development Overview
RACC works to build support and resources for a strong arts and culture community.
RACC receives direct financial support from a variety of government agencies
and some private donations from foundations and individuals.
RACC works to develop private support from a variety of sources and seeks
to launch some new initiatives to raise funds to benefit the entire arts and
culture community in the tri-county region. In that regard, RACC has pursued
the following endeavors:
- In 2003, RACC launched Work for Art: Workplace Giving
for the Arts Program which can allow employees in participating organizations
(both private and public) to contribute to the arts at their place of work,
as a one-time gift or in installments through the convenience of payroll deduction.
- RACC created Work for Art to distribute private funding, from Workplace Giving Campaigns
and private donations, to more than 70
arts and culture organizations in Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington
counties, with 100% of the contribution going directly to these arts and culture
organizations. Gifts from the public are always welcome. (Make
a donation)
- RACC is working with community leaders to explore the potential for stable,
ongoing, dedicated revenue streams that will better support arts and culture
in the region -- read more about the Dedicated
Funding Initiative.
- RACC continues to seek grants to expand programs which support individual
artists and arts organizations (view our
fundraising policy here). Past grants have come from the National Endowment
for the Arts, Oregon Arts Commission, The Oregon Cultural Trust, The Collins
Foundation, The Jackson Foundation, The Meyer Memorial Trust, and The Murdock
Trust. For a complete list of RACC funders, click
